Submission Format

Documents for all submission types can be uploaded to the appropriate submission form by January 4, 2021, with the following appropriate file formats indicated in the submission section below.

Please Note:

Our 2021 conference is fully virtual. Regardless of the category in which you submit, you will not be asked to attend this event in person. Please be prepared to present any and all materials online.

Submissions for Papers and Panels

  • Submission should not exceed 250 words in length for 15-minute presentations.
    • Paper presentations are intended for individuals. Should your proposal be accepted, you will be scheduled into a larger panel, thematically relevant panel with other individual presenters. Panels typically are made up of 2-3 individual presentations to facilitate discussion across topics. 
  • Submission should not exceed 500 words in length for 50-minute panels/roundtables.
    • Panels/roundtable proposals are intended for groups of presenters where there is a coherent topic across presentations. Typically this will involve more than one paper being presented, though co-authored papers with distinct individual presentations are welcome.
  • Abstracts and/or proposals are to be accompanied by a 100-word biography and author contact information and University/Professional Affiliation (if available).
  • Clearly outline your research as it relates to the topic areas.
  • Abstracts and Proposals to be submitted through Paper and Panels Google form by January 4 at 11:59 pm.
  • Questions can be addressed to Sabrina and Stephen at iscs.conference@gmail.com with ‘Intersections Submissions’ in the subject line

Cross-Sections Submissions

  • Descriptions should not exceed 200 words in length.
  • Proposals should be accompanied by a 100-word length biography and author contact information.
  • Proposals are to be submitted through the Cross-Sections Proposal Google form by January 4 at 11:59 pm.
  • Filename Format: LastnameFirstname_ShortTitle_CrossSections
  • Questions can be addressed to Fizza at iscs.conference@gmail.com with ‘Cross-Sections Submission” in the subject line

Keynote Submissions

  • Ph.D. Candidates are encouraged to submit proposals for a 45-minute keynote on the opening day of the conference.
  • Submissions must include a 400-word abstract, academic CV, and 5 keywords that represent the major foci of your proposed keynote.
  • Keynotes may be excerpts from an in-progress or recently completed dissertation/MPR/thesis that aligns with the theme and topics of the conference.
  • All submissions should be done through the Student Keynote Application Google Form.
  • Filename Format: LastnameFirstname_ShortTitle_Keynote
