Intersections | Cross-sections, a two-day interdisciplinary conference organized by the Joint Graduate Program in Communication & Culture at York University and Ryerson University, invites academic and artistic submissions for the Intersections | Cross-sections 2018 Graduate Conference & Art Exhibition, to be held on March 9 and 10, 2018.
The conference theme, (Re)claiming Space, encourages submissions exploring the “space(s)” within, around, and about us or others. We are particularly interested in proposals for works that engage with conceptions of ‘space’ and its (re)clamations in academic and artistic practice, however you define it, in the study, production, and/or critique of communication and/or culture.
Potential topics for submission include, but are not limited to:
- Imagined spaces
- Convergent spaces
- Spaces of resistance
- Internal/external/liminal spaces
- Self-constructed spaces
- Contested space
- Pedagogy & the neocapitalist village
- Understanding queer space
- Urban and digital space
- Positive and negative space
Deadline Extension: Submissions are due January 3, 2018 at Midnight EST.
